Founded in 2006, Los Angeles-based Iron Sink Media produces original programming for multiple formats, including this year's revolutionary and wildly successful "Soup of the Day" and several other programs and feature-length DVD premiere films in development at several major studios and Internet companies.
The management team includes Scott Zakarin, Scott Hettrick, Rob Cesternino, Paul S. Camuso, and Al Cash.
Zakarin is an online programming pioneer, having created the first episodic Internet serial in 1995, "The Spot." He was also partnered with Brandon Tartikoff and Rich Tackenberg in AOL's original production studio in the late 1990s called Entertainment Asylum.
Zakarin was one of the producers of the award-winning "Comic Book: The Movie" and he and Cesternino were producers, with Tackenberg as executive producer, on the reality series "Kill Reality" for E! Entertainment Television. That series resulted in the feature-length DVD movie "The Scorned," released to retailers in April by Anchor Bay Entertainment.
Most recently, Zakarin directed and co-wrote the 2006 Internet webisodic phenomenon "Soup of the Day".
"Technology allows mass audiences to enjoy a new form of programming in multiple formats," Zakarin says. "Tens of thousands of MySpace members and other web users are interacting and influencing "Soup of The Day" characters on their computer or iPod."
Camuso was also a producer on "Kill Reality" and "The Scorned."
Hettrick was one of the premier editors/reporters covering the entire spectrum of the cable and home entertainment industry for 12 years from 1994-2006 with Daily Variety and The Hollywood Reporter , and an overlapping nine years as editor of Video Business magazine. He launched the monthly Hollywood trade magazine DVD Exclusive and produced the "DVD Exclusive Awards" with Dick Clark Productions for FX. Prior to becoming a journalist, Hettrick was production director at a cable system in Missouri for seven years, where he created, wrote and produced TV commercials, sports and news programs, and hosted two weekly entertainment shows.
Cesternino starred in "Survivor: Amazon" as well as "Survivor All-Stars," "Kill Reality" and "The Scorned." In addition to co-writing "Kill Reality" and "The Scorned," Cesternino co-wrote "Soup of the Day" with Zakarin.
